Quarrel Shop
Leap’s Quarrel Shop is a training project for young people, which enables them to gain greater awareness of themselves in conflict and become peer facilitators.
Quarrel Shop involves around 60 hours of training and is targeted towards young people (16-21 year olds) who have been disengaged from mainstream education; young people experiencing issues in dealing with conflict in their own lives; and young people who want to go onto youth work, social work or mediation.
Participants will learn communication and conflict resolution skills and are trained to become facilitators, through interactive discussions, games, exercises, role plays and group work.
Benefits for young people participating in Quarrel Shop:
- Opportunity to gain a nationally recognised accreditation OCN level 2
- Supported volunteering opportunities offered upon completion of the training
- Potential to become a Leap Young Trainer or Apprentice
- Increased personal and social skills
- Increased self esteem and emotional wellbeing
- Increased employability skills
Young People can self refer or can be referred via youth organisations, agencies or various projects.
