Peer Mediation

Leap’s Peer Mediation training helps young people to resolve disputes and conflict amongst their peers.

PM

Leap has delivered Peer Mediation training in schools and communities for over 12 years, reducing conflict and empowering young people to take the lead. We’ve trained and accredited over 200 peer mediators in over 15 secondary schools.

Leap recommends a whole school approach to conflict. We offer conflict resolution training, accredited Peer Mediation training and training for staff in how to set up a peer mediation service.

Benefits of Peer Mediation:

  • Young people better able to resolve their own conflict: Peer Mediation works!
  • Peer Mediators gain skills in communication, cooperation, empathy and personal leadership
  • Disputes can be resolved by young people using peer mediation without the need to involve staff
  • Peer Mediation has been identified as contributing to PSHE and Citizenship curricula, Healthy Schools, SEAL, ECM, Preventing Violent Extremism, Community Cohesion and supporting Ofsted requirements.
