Youth and conflict
Why use the Academy?
There is currently no training in preventing or working positively with youth conflict, for youth practitioners, teachers, housing and social workers – a significant gap in professional skills development. As a result, the UK has a shortage of conflict and community cohesion specialists able to tackle the visible rise in community tensions and conflict.
Faced with a raft of initiatives, new challenges of multi-agency working and changes in the sector, many youth practitioners can also feel helpless in the face of dealing with difficult issues of escalating youth violence. Many do not feel they have the skills, tools and experience to prevent or deal constructively with conflict when it arises.
Leap has the expertise, materials and skills to offer training at a variety of levels to adult practitioners on a national scale. The Leap Academy enables us to meet the growing need for this work and for the skilled practitioners and qualifications to do it.
- Accredited training that works.

Young people learn easily. Peer leadership is powerful.
We need to start seeing young people not as the problem, but as part of the solution.
