The Big March
Thursday 11th November 2010
Leap Confronting Conflict will be taking part in the world’s first ever online virtual march to combat bullying on the 15th November at 8.00. Organised by Beat-Bullying ‘The Big March’ is inviting schools, education organisations, community organisations, young people and adults to join the big march too. Leap is encouraging all its PeerLink (Leaps network) membership to join the ‘Big March’ with us.
The Big March will take place on the first day of Anti Bullying Week, 15th November, and will walk across all participating websites. Every organisation that joins the march, and signs the petition will be represented by an avatar. Your avatar will help deliver the petition to Downing Street in the evening.
The Big March aims to put bullying on the map during the week, by showing the level of support it has from lots of different organisations, like ours and yours. The message is clear, young people say No to Bullying!
Leap Confronting Conflict are specialist in Conflict Resolution and have trained young people across the country in ‘Peer Mediation’ and ‘on the spot mediation’. Young people who are trained in conflict resolution are better equipped to deal with bullying situations; Leap’s young people also support others in conflict.
