Leap volunteers gain Platinum Youth Achievement Awards
Friday 17th April 2009
Two of Leap’s young volunteers who support the PeerLink project were recognised for their outstanding work by being awarded a Platinum Youth Achievement Award at an official ceremony in London in April. Both Sohail Karim and Abdulkadir Munie undertook really testing challenges to achieve their awards including planning and leading workshops on communication and mediation for other young people at a national conference, as well as presenting to an audience of over 150 people at last year’s PeerLink Awards. Since doing their Award, Sohail and Abdulkadir have continued to volunteer for Leap, taking part in producing a film for young people on how to use their mediation skills to resolve conflict with their friends and family as well as supporting the 2009 PeerLink Awards.
