Will you be part of our success?
Tuesday 20th December 2011
On behalf of all of us at Leap Confronting Conflict we wish you a warm and peaceful festive season.
2011 has been an amazing year for Leap Confronting Conflict. 2012 will be our most ambitious to date. So I’m asking for your help.
Your past support allowed Leap to do the amazing work it does today. Now we’ve reached a crucial point. In 2011 nearly 3,500 young people took the step to make a positive and profound change to their lives. Next year we plan to reach even more young people. This will be challenging, but if you make a donation, you can help us do it.
The difference you can make
When most young people first encounter Leap, their lives are affected by conflict, confrontation, and fear. At such a formative age, gang influence, bullying, family or identity issues leave them feeling that they have few choices, with nowhere to turn and no future. Then they work with us – and they find out how to succeed.
They learn new skills and discover talents they never knew they had. They have to stay committed, but through this they find they can break free from lives of confrontation or crime. They learn things that stay with them for the rest of their life. They also take what they’ve achieved back into their communities to influence others facing the same issues.
You’ve already helped young people to do this. Today, I ask you to help achieve something else. In 2012 we’ll begin to expand our coverage to more parts of the UK. We’ll empower many thousands more young people to make the most of their lives. Your support is essential to achieving that success.
How you can do it
All you need to do is visit our website, and make a donation.
- Just £10 could pay for one volunteer to come into the Leap office and gain essential skills and work experience
- £35 pays for the support a young person needs to run a workshop session to reduce knife crime among their peers
- £100 pays for a young trainer to gain valuable experience by delivering a day’s workshop
These really are life-changing amounts of money. To find out more about what you’ve helped to do already, check out our latest newsletter. To help us make the next step in our work with young people, make a donation today. You can help us do so much more.
Please, give what you can to reach the thousands of young people who wish to change their lives and their communities.
Thank You
Thomas Lawson, Chief Executive
