Peer mediation workshops to promote Anti-Bullying Week
Thursday 19th November 2009
Today Leap will be delivering a series of workshops for over 60 peer mediators at Norwood School in Lambeth as part of the Anti-Bullying Week activities which the school has been running throughout the week. The workshops are designed to refresh mediation skills, motivate the mediators and for more experienced mediators to explore how they can use their mediation skills with friends and family. Delivered by two young Trainers as part of Leap’s Anti-Bullying Week work, the workshops will help mediators from all year groups develop their skills so they can tackle issues around bullying in the school themselves and stop these issues escalating.
Norwood School have a successful mediation service and have regularly attend PeerLink events as a way to motivate and inspire their group. This year, Mediation Coordinator Jonelle Bernasko even won the PeerLink Award for ‘Adult Supporting Young People’ for her commitment to sustaining and growing mediation services in Norwood School.
We’d love to hear what you’ve been up to this week to promote Anti-Bullying Week in your schools and communities. Tell us all about here…
